Happy Tomato Day! Spent the morning making a year’s worth of passata with the Bertoni family in Concord in Sydney. Nonna even let me take a couple of jars home.

.@alifrance5 is a working mum. She knows how important early education is for children, and what a difference Labor’s cheaper child care plan will make for families. I want her to be part of the team that delivers it – because she’s on your side.

The Federal Government needs to get the vaccine rollout right. They especially need to get it right in aged care facilities, which they run and regulate.

She’s a charity worker. She’s a disability advocate. And now I’ve asked @alifrance5 to stand to be Labor’s candidate in the seat of Dickson. Ali has spent her life fighting for people. Now she’s ready to take that fight to our nation’s Parliament – because she’s on your side.

Every Australian worker deserves the safety net of the Australian minimum wage. That’s the whole point. It’s the bare minimum. The reality is that workers in the gig economy aren’t getting a fair deal. We've got people earning $10 an hour with no sick leave and no security.

Tomorrow, the aged care royal commission hands down its final report. This is our chance to do what’s required and fix our broken aged care system. But so long as the Morrison Government continues to dodge responsibility for aged care, nothing will change.

Great to be back home in Sydney, but even better to be headed to @Enmore_Theatre to see @midnightoilband and friends 🎸🥁

This Prime Minister doesn’t have your back because he’s too busy protecting his own.

Scott Morrison's record on aged care: - $1.7 billion cut - Nearly 11,000 deaths while waiting for home care in the past year - 685 deaths from coronavirus during the pandemic - Chronic understaffing, malnutrition and neglect How can anyone trust this PM to fix aged care?

It was a privilege to speak with Labor women staffers at the Elizabeth Reid Network last night. Women should be in all the places where decisions are made – and I’m so proud of the Labor women who are making a difference every day in Parliament House.

Making things in Australia = jobs for Australians. Labor has a plan for a future made in Australia – one that backs the smarts of our people with secure, well-paying jobs. We're on your side.

Public confidence in the vaccine is essential. That's why I rolled up my sleeves when asked by the public health experts. When it’s your turn, get the vaccination. They’re safe. They’re effective. And they'll save lives.

These are things worth fighting for. Having a job used to mean something. It gave you security. It gave you dignity. But these days, there aren’t enough jobs, there aren’t enough hours – and for too many, the jobs that are there barely even cover the basics.

Great to meet with @afsnsw and @tonymahar from @NationalFarmers. We spoke about our shared commitment to net zero emissions by 2050, and why we need to invest in regional communities and create more secure jobs closer to home.

At the start of the pandemic, casual workers lost their jobs eight times faster than those in permanent jobs. A million were excluded from JobKeeper – a deliberate decision by the Morrison Government. Here's my message to all those workers left behind: Labor is on your side.

We’ve seen to many examples to exploitation in the retail supply chain. We need to focus on how we can become fairer and how we can ensure that workers have dignity and respect: @albomp

The racially motivated attack on a First Nations woman is another instance of a disconcerting trend in right wing extremism and white supremacy in Australia. We cannot brush this aside or be complacent. We must remain vigilant and challenge this in our community.

Thank you @AlboMP for leading the fight for Australian workers to have better job security and fair pay rises. The IR Omnibus Bill takes us in exactly the wrong direction.

I wouldn’t ask anyone to do something I’m not prepared to do. If you have concerns, talk to your treating doctors. I did and I am confident it is safe to take the vaccine. Do it for yourself, do it for the community. Do it for Australia.

I photobombed @AlboMP’s meeting this morning for 2 reasons. 1. Childcare is a social and economic imperative and I want every parent to be able to afford it. 2. @AliciaPayneMP’s son Paul is awesome.
