debugging strategy: use sounds or pictures I'm still not satisfied with the examples in this one, I'd love to hear examples of how you use visualizations or sounds to debug

really enjoyed reading this, I learned some new things about flexbox (like how it interacts with `min-width` which has confused me many times in the past) https://t.co/t9gUihbwro

I've been trying out mastodon a little bit and I'm surprised how much I like it so far, we've been having some good discussions about debugging over there I'm @b0rk@mastodon.social right now though I'll probably move to a different instance later

is there an updated consolidated RFC for DNS, like RFC 9110 for HTTP or RFC 9293 for TCP?

quick note that if you want to buy print zines for christmas from https://t.co/Li8HpQgXtF, now is probably a good time to think about that I don't have guaranteed christmas shipping dates unfortunately (international shipping sometimes takes FOREVER), but the sooner the better

are there ML art tools that will color in black and white line drawings like this? I found https://t.co/dBWhVWtJZc but it seems to be mostly about anime-style drawings and the results weren't as good as I hoped

poll: if you're a programmer, do you use a debugger to debug your code? (not interested in opinions about what is the Right Way or Wrong Way, just curious about what people do)

what do you do after you've fixed a bug? so far I have: - look for (and fix) related bugs - add a regression test - add a comment or maybe docs - tell someone what you just went through ("this took me THREE HOURS and finally the problem was...")

I keep seeing the debugging advice "check your assumptions". This is good advice but I'm struggling to make it concrete -- usually I don't *know* what my assumptions are! there's no list. what are ways to figure out your hidden assumptions? (other than rubber duck debugging etc)

If you needed to make a simple single-page static website in 2022 (longform text, some diagrams, looks aesthetically pleasing), and you neither want to write your own CSS nor use an all-in-one site builder + hosting service, what would you use?

PSA: If you want to find where people you know here are moving to, you can search for the service name ("Mastodon", "BeReal", "Cohost" etc) and then click the little filter button and set it to "people you follow". Then switch the results to "latest" and scroll through
