@businessbaristaThere are few guarantees in life.
But here's one for you.
If you start a business, I guarantee that people will shit on your idea.
It's far easier to be negative & critical than it is to be optimistic & supportive.

@businessbaristaEveryone says you should find what you love.
Bad advice.
It's as important & easier to find what you don't love.
I don't love operating scaled businesses.
I don't love angel investing.
I don't love buying businesses.

I will do anything (legal) to will my businesses into existence.
No task is below me.

@businessbaristaThe most important thing for an early stage founder is focus.
And the best way to have focus is have 1-2 goals that you relentlessly build towards.

I said I wanted him to play The Plunge in Madison Square Park tomorrow. He looked confused.

@businessbaristaI believe almost every entrepreneur is driven by some combo of 2 things:
1) Intrinsics: purpose, values & growth
2) Extrinsics: ego, currency ($/power) & validation
But most are not willing to admit they're influenced by #2.

@businessbaristaI used to think scrappiness was a superpower.
But it has real tradeoffs.
It makes you fear spending $.
It makes you bad at delegation.
And it sets an imperfect example for employees.
