Sending your employees back to the office when gas, food, child care, pet care, etc are all through the roof - and not giving them a raise - after they spent 2 years doing the job just as well from home is a great way to tell your employees you don't care about them

Health insurance is great because you get to pay a company for the right to ask them whether a medical professional can see you, as long as they're not cleaning your teeth, fixing your vision, getting you a hearing aid or helping your mental health.

Companies that pay their CEO over 1,000x more than their median worker: Gap, Chipotle, Ross, Nike, Coke, Dick's, BJ's, Foot Locker, KFC/Taco Bell/Pizza Hut, Starbucks, McDonald's, Kohl's, Walmart and 45 others. How come worker pay contributes to inflation but CEO pay doesn't?

Workers pay: your taxes are automatically taken out of your paycheck CEO pay: you'll get stock that you can hold tax-free that you can borrow against to get easy cash, and if you sell it, it's taxed at a lower rate Guess who funds the people who write the tax code

Thank god the Post Office, libraries, Social Security, Medicare, unemployment insurance, food stamps and National Parks already exist because if any of these things were proposed today they'd be immediately shot down as a socialist handout or blocked by an affected corporation

Tax Day is a good time to remind you that we miss out on $1 trillion a year in taxes the rich just don't pay. *The IRS is the same size it was in 1970 *Audits of millionaires are down 70% this decade *People making $1 million are less likely to be audited than people making $25k

Child tax credit Cost $100 billion a year, cut child poverty 25%, poor people spent 90% of it on necessities, didn't lead people to quit jobs Tax cuts for rich Cost $1.9 trillion, wages didn't go up, prices went up anyway One is called a "handout" and the other is a "stimulus"

if corporations are "forced to raise prices" because of inflation how come they weren't forced to lower prices when they got $1.9 trillion in tax cuts?

Paying people to stay off drugs is twice as effective as counseling or 12-step program. The taxpayer cost is half of an ambulance ride or trip to jail. Yet barely anyone does it because society sees drugs as a moral failing and not a mental health issue https://t.co/Pdoa9F3zJ4

Audits of millionaires have been cut in half in the last five years. The government loses $1 trillion a year from the rich not paying taxes. Just FYI, anytime someone says "we can't afford it," we are choosing not to collect the money legally owed https://t.co/Vg1tpWOdhf

Amazon: "we are forced to add a 5% inflation surcharge and raise Prime prices" Also Amazon: our profit tripled since pre-pandemic times, our founder is worth $190 billion (up $77B in the pandemic) and we just gave shareholders $10B in stock buybacks https://t.co/iTPNT28RRj
