Me, planning a work trip: “I wonder if there are any nice restaurants there that I can eat at.” Me, on the work trip: “Siri, where is the nearest McDonald’s drive through and Tesco Extra?”

No *you* got home from work after 9pm at night and have lost your key somewhere inside your car and can’t lock it and can’t find it even with the torch so are going to have to live in your car now.

I know I’m a million years late to this, but Time on BBC iPlayer is absolutely brilliant. So well-acted, and devastatingly realistic in terms of the prisoners’ back stories. It’s not an easy watch, but it’s the best drama I’ve seen in a long time.

Made it out of the house!! For the first time in a week!! Wore a dress!! And contact lenses!! And makeup!! Tried the roast @DucieStMCR. The cauliflower cheese menu was *excellent*, and the sticky toffee pudding (with salt bae gold leaf) was *stunning*.

Apparently professional Instagram accounts are a thing, so I made one. I’ll share pictures from my reporting trips, nice places to eat/drink/see in The North™️, and perhaps some subscriber-only Phillip content 🐈 It’s here: https://t.co/VugMTxcM9n

I’ve been gifted a big bag of cooking apples 🍏 by a friend. Any ideas for what to do with them? I have a full store cupboard of flours, sugars, spices etc. and I am hoping to do something more creative than a crumble or a pie.

Yes!!! Delicious normal cheese regularly replaced by disgusting vegan cheese in so many veggie options. Is it really that hard to cater to vegetarians and vegans separately? https://t.co/axV2fC4u61

I am faced with the prospect of properly leaving the house for the first time in a week. Not into it tbh. Leaving the house is cold and very expensive and then you get sick. Overrated.

As Ismail, or Ishmale, Abedi flees the country rather than give evidence to the public inquiry into the arena bomb, here is my piece on what MI5 knew of his Isis links 👇 https://t.co/nuxRNyfzXZ

Worrying. Vaccine take-up among young teenagers is below 10% in over a third of main local authorities in England, acc to ONS data. In some areas rate is as low as 5%. The picture is very different in Scotland, where take-up is already over 50% in half of local authority areas.

Sadly the cat has not shown up, so if anyone in the Finsbury Park area could keep an eye out for this guy (and check sheds etc) I would be *very* grateful. He’s usually very friendly, but may be skittish as he’s very much an indoor cat with rare forays out. RTs appreciated.

New data suggests that thousands of Muslims have chosen not go to university because taking out a student loan that accrues interest is Haram, making higher education unreachable to them https://t.co/Lt08Yzv5gG

NEW: there’s been a lot of chatter about why cases, hospitalisations and deaths are much higher in the UK than elsewhere in Western Europe. I think a lot of the commentary has been overly simplistic, politicised and at-times flat-out wrong. Let’s see if we can do better:

A big issue with the recruitment policy of intelligence agencies is the inflexibility of their salary structure. It leaves little room for people changing jobs mid-career due to the steep salary. Makes MI5 a job for those who can afford it. https://t.co/PfHPekH5Td

A man appeared in court in Manchester last month charged with smashing a GP's skull and assaulting three other members of staff at the practice. On the same day he allegedly phoned his local MP and made threats against her. This violence against people doing their jobs must stop.

One MP says they were sitting with colleagues recently and so many of them had examples of people actually in prison because of serious death threats against them - they says police tell them to not go public but describes it an “epidemic”

Oooof. Train company switching from electric to diesel because electricity has got too expensive. Not a good look for the government just weeks before Cop26. 🚂 ♻️
