According to this study, when measured by Disability Adjusted Life Years, tuberculosis is the third leading cause of death and disability for humans, behind only cardiovascular disease and cancer. And not even that far behind cancer. https://t.co/rUkAPIz8di

I really liked the Kurt Vonnegut documentary that just came out. So much Indianapolis in it. Nice to see our city unstuck in time. It also helped me remember how important Vonnegut is to Indianapolis and to me.

You can vote for The Anthropocene Reviewed for the best nonfiction of 2021. Or also for any of these other excellent books! https://t.co/UQyL45qihE

I think my most unpopular opinion is that I like humans and am mostly in favor of them. To me, humans are the most interesting thing on Earth. We are a catastrophe, of course, but we're also much else! We fall in love. We try to count the stars. We are so weird and sad and funny.

Many of you have asked (maybe jokingly?) if The Anthropocene Reviewed will become a movie. No, I don't think it will. (That would be a weird movie!) However, I am feeling cautiously optimistic about other cinematic prospects.

One thing I did not foresee when signing all those copies of The Anthropocene Reviewed is the (unsigned) audiobook reaching almost as many people as the (signed) physical book.

Sometimes when I am sad I think about the person who wrote to @dearhankandjohn to say that when you are in a bathroom, the best response to someone knocking on the door is to say, "Come back with a warrant."

Young refugees are not a 'lost generation.’ We know where they are and what they need: schools, teachers, books, equipment and technology, and care. Thank you @JohnGreen for highlighting this issue. We agree - everyone has a right to an education. https://t.co/FBbnarL7RI
