Dems control the House, Senate and Presidency, and Republicans are negotiating like they are still in charge. https://t.co/1Yy9moW44a

Or, you know, we could just make heavy industry not be polluting. Somehow I think that will cost a lot less than moving it to space. https://t.co/4jNfvaQo0j

Every now and then I think about bad readability on the Internet has gotten and it makes me sad.

Fine, don't call it a wealth tax if that bothers you. Call it taking equity stakes in exchange for using public goods to build a business.

His wealth has increased by about $20 billion a year over the last decade. He won't notice. https://t.co/JSQZ1y8gDq

As we pull out of Afghanistan, I keep seeing op-eds and articles about how it's premature. How if only we spent a few more years and a few billion more dollars, 'victory' could be achieved. I wish they had brought this same mindset when we gave loans to Tesla and Solyndra.

For everyone that cheered on our continued military presence in Afghanistan over the last couple decades: Can you point to a single good thing that came out of it?

The US can combat climate change globally by mass manufacturing clean alternatives at such a huge scale that they become drastically cheaper than the current options. Make it financially disastrous for countries like China to keep building coal plants or gas-powered vehicles.

The saddest part of all this is how little money it takes to buy these Senators. Just a few hundred thousand dollars. They aren't even getting a good deal for selling off our future. https://t.co/V1Vztj4fyr

There are going to be so many insane, terrible weather events from climate change this decade, and that's just going to be the beginning. Meanwhile, we're busy debating whether a Biden infrastructure bill that is 1/10 the size it needs to be is 'too much.' https://t.co/4R58g8pADI

This is promising and, if it happens, a sign of progressives effectively wielding power in Congress. https://t.co/7KqRZNcG2e

This would be a better use of money than @Jason’s gofundme to hire a reporter to just investigate Chesa. Shouldn’t we be trying to figure out what’s actually causing crime all over the nation to go up (not just SF)? https://t.co/ZKGw6qBG6K

Why do no journalists reporting on crime interview criminals? Seems like if we are trying to figure out what’s causing all this crime, it would be helpful to figure out the stories of new criminals.

Either @Sen_JoeManchin fundamentally misunderstands climate change & climate policy, or he is lying. https://t.co/MW4CqpmjDX

It’s the final episode of #TonysChocolloquium, but we’re ending on a high with @saikatc, tackling US politics and climate change with his attitude of “why not try”! Join him now in conversation with Amelia Høy for more insights on creating positive change https://t.co/o4Imza8w1K

Today on Volts: a key point I've been meaning to make forever. As Democrats negotiate over which climate policies will make it into the reconciliation bill, *they must prioritize clean electrification*. It is Job One. The main dish. The top prize. https://t.co/THHcQYJocX

History isn't going to be kind to people running cover for and cashing checks from the fossil fuel industry, however much they say they care about the climate crisis

At least 103M households would save $37.3 billion a year on energy bills if they were using modern, electrified appliances instead of their current ones. Sign on to support the Zero-Emission Homes legislation. https://t.co/g4vGNCJaRJ

Need more proof that private investment is no longer about capital formation? Here ya go. Time to use public capital, which most 'private' capital really amounts to (see Comments), for productive public investment again.

Good speech by @BrianDeeseNEC on industrial policy: "We should be clear-eyed that the idea of an open, free-market global economy ignores the reality that China and other countries are playing by a different set of rules..." https://t.co/2CMM0CHwoZ

It's nice of Senator @MikeCrapo to make it explicit for his donors how to buy access. He even has a list of offerings you can receive for different sizes of bribe. https://t.co/Ur67sXW1LJ

Such an important point from @yayitsrob on the limits of (US-style) R&D: "We don’t need the government to fund more science alone; we need the government to support a thriving industrial sector and incentivize companies to deploy new technology." https://t.co/vVpSkPxEgf
