The "new numbers" literally show that bail reform has led directly to a *drop in rearrests*, that even for those released on violent felony charges (not bail reform, but judicial discretion) had no connection to any increase in crime, & that most violent crime is down in 2023.

I want to state this as clearly as possible. Every study, piece of data, everywhere, points to the extraordinary success of bail reform. Recidivism decreased. Hundreds of millions saved. No tie to crime. Unnecessary jail avoided. A manufactured crisis & NY Gov. Hochul is a liar.

Think about all the horrors of police abuse, misconduct, racism, & violence you’ve seen that by mere chance happened to be caught on camera. Now imagine 100,000s (millions even?) more unseen incidents every year. The weight of the U.S. policing problem is hard to fathom.

Do not forget this. NYC Mayor Eric Adams is still fighting to gut NYC public libraries & public schools while the NYPD just blew past their allotted budget by $100 million in overtime alone. $100 million would fund the library & school cuts with tens of millions to spare.

To all those trying to distract from Trump's crimes by hating on NYC: New York City is one of the safest big cities in the U.S. Of its five boroughs, Staten Island, Manhattan and Queens are among the safest 15 counties in the U.S.

In 2022, NYers had to pay out $121M in NYPD misconduct settlement fees — the most in 5 years. That’s nearly 4x what the Mayor is trying to cut from libraries, forcing them to slash hours, services, & programs. I asked the PD what our tab will be this year. Watch their response.
